A tacky café somewhere in London and meeting place for artists, musicians, and other intellectuals. There were no laws, neither explicit nor implicit, which hindered Ingsoc members to visit the place, but it was nevertheless considered a most dubious establishment. It was said that the old leaders of the Party had frequented the place before they were purged, including Goldstein himself. Furthermore, rehabilitated thoughtcriminals such as Jones, Aaronson, Rutherford, and Winston Smith could sometimes be seen there.
